A step mother and her ex-boyfriend were labelled “evil” by the police following their “toxic mix” caused the murder of Arthur Labinko-Hughes. Emma Tustin, 32, was found guilty of murdering six-year-old Arthur as her ex-boyfriend, Arthur’s dad Thomas Hughes, 29, was found guilty of manslaughter. The duo has been accused as “jointly accountable” for the horrific murder of a police officer by detective Laura Harrison, who led the investigation. This is despite the fact that Tustin 32 was the one who inflicted the fatal injury in her residence at Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands.Police observed that they spent their time in a hot tub located in Tustin’s backyard and Arthur was forced to stand up for as long as 14 hours per day in the hallway.
The senior officer stated that “all required was unconditional love and support from his father that he did not get,” after enduring emotions since his mother was sentenced and convicted for manslaughter in the case of her boyfriend. “I would characterize Thomas as being the weak link in their relationship.” Detective Insp Harrison said to BirminghamLive. “I believe that Emma Tustin did want to make a family unit which did not include Arthur and I believe this is probably the reason why things went beyond control for both of the two. “That’s not meant to place any more importance on the things Emma Tustin has done because I’m still of the opinion it’s likely that Thomas is the only person who… ought to be protecting Arthur.
He was able to leave his home and the night he left, and then decided to go back. He appears to be someone who is weak, however that’s not meant to diminish the severity of his involvement. “This was a period in his life when Arthur had to be at the center of the universe in order to get him through the difficult relationship with his mother. “I am just thinking Emma Tustin wanted a relationship as Thomas Hughes did. Thomas Hughes and they were an unbalanced couple that was not able to handle parenting that they had to care for a small boy who simply needed support and love. “The behavior cannot be justified and cannot be explained and is a complete brutality that can only be described as evil. “Det Insp Harrison stated that Hughes was required to become the father of his ex-girlfriend after she was imprisoned, and he became the sole parent to Arthur.Police claimed that Hughes could have sought assistance from his family members to help in Arthur’s care.Instead Hughes chose to file a complaint with the police over alleged harassing.
