The leading insurance risk and commercial legal firm BLM is currently negotiating an agreement to move its Manchester team located across two locations, to a brand new Manchester building located at Two New Bailey Square. Two New Bailey Square is an office building of 188,500 square feet. structure that is located 5 minutes’ walk away from the current location of the business. The new building is part of the English Cities Fund’s overall New Bailey development, which has transformed a modern business area located in Salford, Greater Manchester. BLM’s 645 Manchester employees is currently split between King’s House, King Street West and Alberton House, St Mary’s Parsonage. The company plans to move all employees to the new premises in early 2021. Two New Bailey Square is situated in the vicinity of Spinningfields and is in connection to Manchester’s railway system and is within a few steps of Manchester’s central Metrolink. BLM will cover up to 70,782 square feet. BLM principal partner Matthew Harrington, said: “We have been considering our needs in relation to facilities that will meet our future requirements in Manchester for a while. This isn’t solely about unifying our Manchester employees It’s also crucial to our future company as we expand its presence within the North and is further improved with offices at Leeds as well as Liverpool. “The newly constructed office is going to feature a contemporary space that is like the open-plan space we’ve created elsewhere, such as the one in Plantation Place and most recently in Birmingham. We’ll also roll out our paperless initiative in Manchester in the near future. To increase the adoption of technology across our business we’ve invested in new technology that will make sharing information more efficient. This technology, together with our current Collaboration software allow the Manchester team to operate more efficiently.” Phil Mayall, regional director at The English Cities Fund, said: “It’s fantastic that the New Bailey scheme is continuing its success in attracting businesses that are of the highest quality and we’re looking forward to receiving BLM when the scheme is completed.
