Leigh Griffiths is a Scottish professional footballer who is a striker for Australian team Mandurah City. Griffiths began his career with Livingston where his first appearance was as 16 years old.The former Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has agreed to join semi-professional team Mandurah City in Australia’s third class.
City have announced that the 31-year-old player, who has been featured 22 times by Scotland is set to play in their final two home matches in the league season.Mandurah currently sit 4th in Football West State League Division 1 One of the 11 divisions in the regional league.Griffiths had been let go in the summer of 2011 by Scottish League 1 club Falkirk in the summer of this year.

He was training recently at the one of his previous club, Livingston, as he was looking for a new job after a time with the Bairns which scored just two goals over 12 matches in Scotland’s third-tier.Celtic have activated a clause in the contract that would finish Griffiths seven-year stint with Celtic. The club was Scottish winners in early January.
He was in loan with Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee, scoring three times over 17 games, but he rejected the possibility of a permanent deal with Dens Park club prior to his transfer to Falkirk.
Griffiths recorded 123 goals over 261 games for Celtic however, off-field issues that led to him being absent for six months from the sport in 2018-19, caused a deterioration in the final stages of his career at Celtic.
He spoke to BBC Scotland’s Sportsound in the last month that he was convinced that he can still compete at the top of the game and asked for the chance to show his worth.He is now heading to Australia to join a team run by ex- Raith Rovers, Partick Thistle and St Mirren forward John Baird.
Griffiths who was awarded the final in the Scotland caps in the month of November in 2020 He is set to debut for the first time in the match against Joondalup United on Saturday as Baird’s team prepare for their State League Finals series.
Leigh was a player for Scotland at the under-21 and under-19 levels and played in the team which made it to the 2010 UEFA Under-21 Championship play-offs, just narrowly losing to Iceland.
Leigh is a natural talent with a lot of potential. Leigh continued to play in 22 games for his country with four goals scored, including two well-known free kicks against England in the year 2017.Griffiths was a disappointment during his loan period with Dundee this season prior to finishing the season at Falkirk.
