Lidl is facing angry customers since it announced the upcoming Greek week. The discount store is known for its special weeks focusing on different cuisines from various nations around the globe. Portuguese week Dutch week, and South American week were a huge success with some shoppers, but Lidl’s latest “around the world’ theme has sparked some customers who were not impressed. Lidl’s Greek Week, In a post on Facebook, Lidl wrote: “POV It’s picnic season and it’s Greek Week.” The post highlighted some of the delectable Greek foods available in Lidl stores. It also highlighted Tzatziki, Meze, Breadsticks and Olive Oil.

Many were thrilled to have an opportunity to taste Greek food, which was a refreshing contrast from the British food we’re familiar with, however some took advantage of this opportunity to demand that Lidl concentrate upon its stocks and not of its theme, as according to MEN reports. Tina Dumper said: “It is so wonderful to have more traditional foods in the store. I went to the Southampton store on Saturday. There was not much fruit or veg and one long aisle that included two or three bags of potatoes inside each. I love Lidl but am getting tired with the amount of “lidl’s” on its shelves.”

Steven Mcnamara said: “Can you put an end to the constant promotions and instead concentrate on getting the regular items in your stores?” Abby Gezunt claimed: “Went early to avoid the heat and crowds at the Hornchurch Store and shelves were empty and due to no delivery before the deadline, not one Greek item.T To be honest the store shouldn’t be open at all since it appeared as if it were shutting down. There has never been a supermarket with shelves so empty across UK.” UK.”

Kate Marlowe slammed: “Lidl really sort this out. What’s up with your stock levels? It’s not fair to blame truck drivers and also Brexit!” Terri Whitehouse added: “I went to local Willenhall store last night, but there was nothing on the shelves !!!! None of these items was there, I just bought particular foods!”

Some people were thrilled to learn that Greek week was back. Pat Lowe said: “Fantastic Lidl Always something new: good food and at a fair cost.” Hayley Wakenshaw commented: “Please do Dutch week again! We were awestruck by frikandellen. We’ve only ever found other than mail-order that are genuine Dutch one!”

Emma Blacklock gushed: “Just gone to the local lidl and we are now well-stocked with everything Greek. The place we love the most.” Natalie Goldspink added: “I purchased bougatsa when Greek week was in full swing Lovely filo pastry filled with custard and cinnamon. What’s not there to like. Thank you Lidl.”

A Lidl spokesperson said to MEN:” Our teams are constantly working to ensure the availability of our products in our assortments, and we apologize for any occasions where the customer isn’t in a position to obtain the product they require.”
