Roxy Horner, who is with comedian and actor Jack Whitehall, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in the month of May 2021 when she experienced fatigue, “appalling” memory, and constant illness. The model of 30 years old confessed that she was taken to the hospital following an acquaintance summoned an ambulance. The model expressed gratitude to be in the UK following the discovery of the shortage of medications for the disease in Ukraine in the current war. With regard to the 193,000 people who follow her, Roxy Horner began: “After my last post about diabetes, I’ve received a few comments about how I’m doing and the reality is that I’m doing my best however it’s hard.I’ve been having a very difficult time regulating my glucose levels for the last couple of weeks. They’re going through a yo-yo for no reason. I also throw up when I get way too high, and I’ve been through a lot of hypos recently for my taste.
It’s a bit weird for me as I’m still trying to figure out how to solve this problem and about last month I believed I was getting it right. it , but it’s going to be a rollercoaster , and I’m sure that in the near future, I’ll be feeling better, and maybe the next day and I’ll be fine.My issues seem so small when compared to what’s happening in the world, and I consider myself fortunate to be protected in my home country.In an earlier blog post, Roxy shared her dismay in describing the shortage of essential medications for those living in Ukraine following Russia entered the country in the last week.She admitted that she was unable to “fathom the terror” anyone suffering from the condition when they realize that medications are in short supplies.
On Thursday this week, the World Health Organisation (WHO) provided emergency funds to purchase essential medical supplies.A statement issued by WHO said that it “is extremely worried” about the health of the population of Ukraine as they face an ever-growing crisis.It stated: “The health system must continue to operate to provide the most essential medical care to patients suffering from any health problem including COVID-19, the tuberculosis, diabetes, and cancer as well as mental health problems, particularly for the most vulnerable populations like elderly people and those who have migrated. “Roxy has previously spoken out about her battle with diabetes during a candid conversation in a candid interview with Marie Claire last year.The model said to the magazine: “Type 1 diabetes has altered my life, but the bright side is that maybe it has taught me to be a strong advocate for myself and be a good listener to the body.”
