Compulsion is the brand-new drama on Channel 5. With the cast of Cold Feet’s Leanne Best and The Watch’s Anna Chancellor the gripping four-part series follows paramedic Jenny who, after an accident on the train that killed her is hooked on gambling to help cope with her post-traumatic stress disorder.
The series, created by Sarah Deane and directed by Call the Midwife’s Noreen Kershaw, will begin on April 12th, and will be broadcast for four nights in a row in Channel 5 at 9pm. The series will come to the end of Good Friday that is the 15th of April.
A synopsis of the show says: “The gripping four part series follows paramedic Jenny who, after an accident that killed her discovers a new addiction to gambling to help deal with her trauma. Being in debt to several risky people, she receives help in the form of good Samaritan Sasha who offers Jenny the chance to escape. But, Sasha has her own plans, and one that could ultimately force Jenny to take the largest risk ever. To save her life.”
Where was Compulsion filming?
The filming of the Channel 5 show was held in Liverpool in 2021. Actress Leanne stated that the location of the show was what she was most excited about the most about the show.
She explained: “I had known (executive producer) Collin McKeown before I attended the drama school or was an actor. We often talked about my returning home to work on an amazing project. There was always a joke about wanting the opportunity to play Scouse in something. I love the fact the fact that I can do various things and I am a huge fan of the costumes that come with acting regardless of the attire or the voice, or even the time period, but I wanted to work on something that was created in Liverpool and where I could be the role of a character that was from Liverpool.
The number of instances of the show do we have?
