Stephen Mulhern addressed his illness and absence from television screens when he appeared on his Saturday Night Takeaway. Stephen Mulhern spoke to the audience: “Seriously, I haven’t been doing well” when he appeared on the stage alongside Ant and Dec to make his first appearance since the ITV show’s debut episode. Why is Stephen Mulhern so sick, The fans of ITV’s popular Saturday evening show featuring Ant as well as Dec were thrilled to see the comedy duo’s other presenter back on the show tonight. The popular presenter from London comedian and magician 44-year-old had been absent from the past few episodes because of illness, with doctors suggesting that he take a break and recover at home.
In a tweet in Twitter 12 March Stephen posted: “Hello everyone, sorry to be absent from social media] lately and I want to thank you all for your kind messages. I’ve been taking a break and am now settling down under the direction of a doctor. I’m doing well I’m glad to report I’m eager to return to work in the near future. In between, I’ll kick on my feet and enjoy Saturday Night Takeaway tonight with the rest of you. Don’t worry about me all the time! Much love, Stephen. X”
Stephen made fun of the situation: “When your private jet crashes in Hollywood what do you do?” Stephen then spoke about his illness in a conversation with his viewers “No honestly, I’m just not doing well. Thank you so much for your kind messages.”
The Catchphrase presenter said:
“Enough about all that now, because the show has to continue!” Ant was then able to tell him: “We’re over the moon to see you back as well as the audience.” Stephen’s appearance was announced through Ant and Dec on their Twitter account today (Saturday on March 26). Just after 2pm, they posted a video of them wandering around the TV studios where the series is being shot and telling the crew members “Saturday Take Away is back tonight.” Take Away is back tonight.” Three times in the clip, they are observed in their dressing rooms behind the scenes together with Stephen whispering to us that he’s ready for the upcoming episode.
ITV has also confirmed that Stephen is also the host of Catchphrase as well as Celebrity Catchphrase and was often shown on children’s programming during the mid-to-late 2000s, will be making an appearance this evening. An ITV spokesperson said: ITV stated: “Stephen Mulhern is back with a brand new Ant vs Dec and Michael Buble will join us for an extremely unique End of the Show Show.”
Stephen hasn’t yet revealed publicly about the issues he’s experiencing, but sources informed The Sun on Sunday earlier this month that Stephen was required to undergo an operation. The source said: “Stephen went to hospital for a medical procedure however, he has been released and is focusing all of his efforts on recovering. He hopes to be back on the show when is feeling well and healthy enough. He’s currently in a resting state and assisting the boys from his home.”
